    Democracy 2.0

The world has changed a lot since my last attempt at an opinion social network; people don't trust market leaders who have been seen as meddling in elections. Demagogy and misinformation run rampant and have been particularly brought to light during this pandemic. A safe, useful place to debate and understand public opinion has never been more needed. It's so easy to vote digitally, why do we only get to vote on Brexit or No-Brexit, or Trump vs. Biden?

The goal for this tool is for people to take an interest in the way the world gets shaped by being a part of the process. It's no doubt a very ambitious one man project, but it has no accountability to investors, only to its citizens. My goal is to make the hive mind more accessible, because I believe that although one or a few of us can be wrong, immoral or unethical, the hive mind less so, because we are smarter as a group. We stand to unite the citizens of the world in making collective decisions for the benefit of mankind.

Some history

OneVoice is a twist on my very first startup: "Poutsch". This journey started straight out of uni in 2013, my then to be co-founder Melchior approached me to build a startup that was supposed to be a social network for global opinions. Felix joined quickly after and we decided on a data driven, signal over noise approach, to differentiate ourselves when looking at movements such as the Arab spring.

A few months and iterations later, Poutsch was born. We were featured by Apple, had lots of press, even some awards. In 2015 it was rebranded to VoicePolls motivated by difficulty of spelling. After 3 years of operation and a company move from Paris to New York, it was time for me to move on to my next challenge. We were all first time entrepreneurs and I still had much to learn.

4 years in, Poutsch Corp was still nowhere near a sustainable business model. Not being able to raise further funding the company fluttered. I was called back to Poutsch for a short mission to help sell some of the parts to refund our investors (partially). I agreed to do so in exchange for the IP and content, thinking I would revive it some day. Thus in 2020, during the covid-19 pandemic, I finally found time to reboot this dream of mine, with some new twists I hope you will enjoy.

"Our public life withers when only the most extreme voices get attention. Most of all, democracy breaks down when the average person feels their voice doesn't matter; that the system is rigged in favor of the rich or the powerful or some narrow interest."
— Barack Obama
